Day 1-Summer 2021 Pinky Ruth doesn't know it yet but Maddie has gone to teach classes at Holden Village for a week. Unaware of her fate, Pinky wanders the hallway, careful to avoid those other annoying cats, and waits for Maddie Smith to walk through the door.
